Village Agent Project

The Village Agent Project was established in April 2000 to provide support to communities across North East Staffordshire.

A team of "village agents" (local people with local aims) were recruited to assist the communities to identify needs, encourage sustainability of existing resources and explore new issues. Regular consultations, of varying methods, led to the development of Parish Plans.

Since then, 27 of the 34 eligible parishes have completed the plans that the action groups set up at the start of the project and all meet on a regular basis. 

Events involving all the communities have included Fairs and Festivals through Housing Needs Surveys and support for crosscutting issues developed to meet applications for funding.

The Village Agent Project was established under SRB5 and has since been granted additional European funding
