The Rural Access Team at SMCVS run a Call Centre for bookings for The Border Car Scheme and The Moorlands Traveller East

The hotline is open Monday to Friday 09.00h. to 16.00h

Please call with any inquiries about the following services:

 

Moorlands Traveller East:

  • A 7 seater accessible vehicle serving the villages to the north east of Leek, including Longnor, Butterton and Hulme End.

  • Provides a flexible ‘on request’ transport service

  • The service operates 5 days a week - Monday to Friday from 10:00h to 15:00h

  • There is a flat fare of £1.50 per single journey / £3.00 return anywhere within the project area.

  • Senior Citizens travel concessions are half price: £0.75 per single / £1.50 return

  • The cost of a through-ticket is £3.00 per single journey, £4.00 return.

 

The Border Car Scheme:

  • A fully accessible vehicle that is designed to provide journeys to people living in certain areas of Staffordshire and Shropshire to the east of Market Drayton. It enables people within the area to travel to connect with X64 Hanley - Market Drayton - Shrewsbury bus service.

  • An 'on request' transport service.

  • The service operates 5 days a week, Monday to Friday from 07:00h to 18:00h

  • There is a flat rate of £2 per single journey  / £3.00 return

  • Discounts are available for holders of concessionary travel passes and those under 16 years of age.

  • Journeys need to be booked at least one day in advance.

For either of these transport schemes, please call the Booking Line between 09:00h and 16:00h Monday to Friday. You will need to tell the Booking Line on which day you wish to travel, where you would like to be picked up, your destination and the time you wish to travel.
