RFET North Staffs (Richmond Fellowship Education & Training)

RFET works across north Staffordshire with people who have experienced mental health problems, by offering one to one support in providing impartial, realistic advice, compiling cv's, assisting clients into employment and offering support to sustaining employment. Providing mentoring and the resources necessary for individuals to realise their potential in gaining employment.

Rudyard Sailability

Rudyard Sailability is committed to offering boating activities at Rudyard Lake to all people of all ages, with any disability.  We need volunteers to facilitate in all activities. No experience necessary. Full training provided.

Rural Education & Arts Project (REAP)

Reap seeks to identify, promote, facilitate projects that integrate, improve and revitalise communities by inspiring participation in the common good through creative involvement.

Reap aims to celebrate and enrich the culture of its area of benefit, with particular reference to its arts; oral and folk history; natural and built environments; and inter-generational sharing.

Sheen Action Group

Soroptimist International of Staffs Moorlands

Soroptimist International of Staffordshire Moorlands are a group of women who come from a wide range of professional and business backgrounds. We have joined together to give Service, Share Friendship and have Fund.

We work locally, nationally and internationally supporting the cause of women and children in need. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month a the Swan Hotel, Leek at 7:30pm.

Springfield Community Special School

Our aim is to fund raise and support the pupils of Springfield School. At the present time we are committed to fundraising for a new minibus and at the same continuing to fund the upkeep of the present old one.

Staffordshire Rural Support Network

The Staffordshire Rural Support Network is a charity providing support to people in crisis in the rural areas of the County.  Approximately 60% of our referrals are farming families but we also help anyone who lives in rural isolation. 

Our service is free and confidential and our trained volunteers  listen, support and signpost to specialist help.  We understand the pressures of self employment and debt and how stressful situations can become when there are health problems as well.

Staffordshire Youth Service

Staffordshire Youth Service supports young people in their transition from childhood to adolescence. It is a partnership between young people, Staffordshire County Council and Staffordshire Council for Voluntary Youth Services.

We provide: Youth Clubs & Projects / Detached Youth Work & Mobile Provision / Youth of the Moorlands Action Council and Youth Forums / Work with Schools / Summer Activities.

Strokes R Us

Strokes R Us is a self help support group for stroke patients and their carers. We are for the younger (under 65 years) stroke survivor. 

Our aim is for members to provide mutual support and we provide meetings in a social environment. We aim to provide activities that will be beneficial to stroke affected and carers alike. We run a weekly pool session at Shelton pool, hold monthly meetings, organise outings and when appropriate, we are involved in stroke research projects.

We are a campaigning group and we are involved in promoting the need for improved stroke care.

The Dove Service

The Dove Services provides support and counselling to anyone who has experienced a bereavement or facing a life-changing illness.

Counsellors specialise in working with children, young people and families and people with learning disabilities and their carers.    

We provide training on loss and grief theory, bereavement issues, counselling and listening skills to all organisations.

The Furniture Mine

The Furniture Mine enables the sensitive redistribution of furniture from those who have and don't need for the continued use by those who need and don't have.

Clients can be referred to the Furniture Mine or can self refer and purchase goods at low cost from our shop.

The Leek Gateway Club

The Leek Gateway Club aims are the social development of our members and to help and support their parents by providing a break for them.

We also provide support for our members who live independently. Every Monday night our members meet to join in on various activities.

The Honeycomb Centre

The Honeycomb Project provides a unique opportunity for the students to develop employment skills.     It offers them not only craft and vocationally based opportunities,  but also the chance for social and emotional development. 

The heart of the project is a furniture recycling and wood manufacturing business.  Students experience a real work environment in which they are making a full contribution to the business.

"The Optimists" - Breast Cancer Support Group

To support ladies coping with breast cancer by listening, speaking of own experiences, providing transport for hospital visits if necessary. Sharing their concerns. Sending flowers and fruit when low. We meet in a relaxed atmosphere over a cup of tea / coffee with the occasional speaker.
