SMCVS offers the following free services to organisations wishing to involve volunteers:

• A thorough “volunteering health check” to help you identify the policies and procedures that you need to have in place in order to run a successful volunteering programme

• Help with writing your policies through the use of templates and consultation

• Help with writing your role descriptions for volunteering opportunities

• Advertising your volunteering roles on the national www.do-it.org.uk website and in our local centres - referring these volunteers to you

• A choice of where you advertise, locally, across North Staffordshire or across the whole of Staffordshire with one point of contact

• Training workshops for volunteer managers and co-ordinators giving valuable advice and pointers towards volunteering good practice. Covers topics such as recruitment, retention and rewarding of volunteers.
