Health & Social Care Liaison Project

The Health & Social Care Liaison Project works to:

  • enable the voluntary sector to take part in the health and social care planning processes

  • liaise with Health & Social Services planners and provide two way communication for the voluntary sector in the planning process

  • integrate voluntary sector views into the broader health and social care agenda

  • ensure that wider issues of social inclusion, regeneration and equality are encouraged within the work that the voluntary sector does.

 The project does this by:

  • facilitating a Client Interest Forum for Older People’s Services that broadly reflects the planning work done by the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Older People’s Partnerships

  • supporting the Client Interest Forums in electing representatives to attend appropriate Partnership meetings and any appropriate sub groups

  • encouraging representatives to take issues to Partnership meetings and feed information back to Client Interest Forums

  • co-ordinating voluntary sector responses to consultation documents

The other Client Interest Forums operating throughout North Staffordshire are:

Ø            Alcohol & Drugs                                 (facilitated by Voluntary Action)

Ø            Children & Families                            (facilitated by Voluntary Action)

Ø            Housing & Care                                  (facilitated by Voluntary Action)

Ø            Mental Health                                     (facilitated by Voluntary Action)

Ø            Physical & Sensory Disability              (facilitated by Voluntary Action)

Ø            Learning Disabilities                            (facilitated by Newcastle CVS)

If you represent a voluntary or community group, YOU can influence the local Health & Social Care agenda by:

  •  attending the Client Interest Forum that relates to your area of activity

  •  liaising with the Health & Social Care officer over matters relating to health and/or social care

  •  keeping up to date with the consultation papers that are circulated by Health & Social Services   via the Liaison Officer

  •  working together to ensure that the voluntary sector has a true partnership role in the Health & Social Care system
